Owner of Mojo Grill and Catering; founder of Feed the Need, a project of Ocala Outreach Foundation
Rondo Fernandez is a devout Christian, husband, father, coach, community activist, all while being the owner of the Mojo Grill & Catering Co. in Marion County which has three locations and a successful catering business. He is the founder of Feed the Need, which is a project under Ocala Outreach Foundation in Ocala. Feed the Need is a Christian based council made up of nine local restaurants (Mojo’s Grill & Catering, Sonny’s BBQ, Subway, Craft Cuisine, Latinos Y Mas, Uncle Maddios, Ipanema, Lunchbox, & Pasta Faire) and two partners (Loco Graphics & Phillips Printing) which raise awareness of underprivileged youth in Marion County. “Feed the Need” was designed so that these local restaurants that carry this community can come together and share the outreach and hopefully make a bigger impact. Their only hope is that the community supports those local businesses of FTN so they can continue the Lord’s plan to one day lower if not eliminate the struggling youth epidemic in Marion County. Other ministries he supports are Interfaith Emergency Services, “Food 4 Kids” Backpack Program, Kid Central, Homeless Youth Council of the Marion County School Board System, Early Learning Coalition, Read Aloud, Success by 6, Marion County Literacy Council, Kimberly Centers, Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, March of Dimes, and most if not all of our local schools.
Mojo Grill & Catering has made their services available to many more non-profits all over town by giving back with not only their food but their time as well. Rondo himself is a fairly new Christian as of 3 years ago saw the need to keep his faith fresh and alive by wanting to do something biweekly for fellowship hence the birth of Fellowship Wednesday’s at Mojo’s Grill 200. Fellowship breakfast is free for all starting at 8:30am to eat and 9am for the word delivered by himself and Pastor Dave Lambert of Southpoint Church, all are invited. Rondo enjoys giving his real life experiences as examples of his growth in his relationship with God. Rondo himself a kid from the scrubs knows what it’s like to make the wrong choices in life and feels that maybe if just one person, just one kid hears his testimony and his struggle that they will come to know Jesus like he has. Rondo is invited often to speak at schools, jails, prisons, rehabilitation clinics etc. for this exact reason. He’s quite the Cinderella story as I like to call it. He’s our Cinderella story in Marion County and God is doing big things through him and others like him.
